MAYBE we’re all a little weather weary OR maybe it was the excitement of seeing a baby Kestrel today …. SUCH a mellow Monday. Thank you for coming to chat, relax and play in the sunshine. We used hammers and nails, some clay, some obstacle course building, some water pistols, made up games and used some chalk.
I WILL check later but when I left our little dude had hopped on a branch and was trying to have a nap. I have spoken to the rspb & raptor rescue team and will follow their advice.

THERE are lots of fab outdoor party providers out there so I don’t do them often at all WITH today being the third ever party at Nature Noodles. WELL the local wildlife must have known it was a nature lover’s birthday as a Jay, toad and baby Kestrel came to say hello! ALL of the animals were safe and made their way back to where they ought to be BUT it was wonderful to see.
TODAY was all about taking our TIME in the heat and LOOKING around us …. scavenger hunt bags and collections of treasures. Soft, spotty, large, small, red, yellow, curved, bendy, yucky, wet … YOU found them all. Water play with clay and seeing what floats (the boats!), some ROPE courses, hammock and rope swing. FUN in the SUN ☀️
IT’s been a gorgeous few weeks now with lots of sunny fun …. MORE muddy toes at last Fridays session with some tool work too and today den building, clay (bog baby!) and MORE tools with Potterspury Pre-School ….
Wow! Another beautiful sunny session with a large group – fantastic to see you ALL! Lots of learning today: looking after ourselves. Staying hydrated and cool in the shade. Listening and communication: following instruction (!!) – our water pistol tracking game ALWAYS a favourite and ALWAYS degenerates into a full on water fight! WELL, it’s only natural! LOTS to f muddy play – mixing, printing and barefoot walking. SQUELCHY mud between toes! A spot of den building and a rope swing to finish off.
A very sunny session this morning with Potterspury Pre-school and the Home Ed group – using palm drills and hammers, talking about woodland animals, looking at a dead mole, making homes for our soft woodland animals, camouflage hide n seek, playing with mud AND getting to see some MOTHS released, from memory – speckled, cinnabar, swallow tailed and elephant hawk to name a few. BIG thanks to a local couple who brought them down.
SUCH a BEAUTIFUL DAY! FOOD for my SOUL!
SO the SUN came out and brought with it EVERYONE ☀️❤️☀️. I used to say what would happen IF everyone came … BOTH overwhelming AND delighted to see that Nature Noodles has got THIS big! OF course my resources bag was left mostly untouched and for speed and ease I chose baked banana for SNACK and was tied to the FIRE but hope the children all enjoyed themselves with wands, fairies, fairy houses, den building, exploring, stinky dinosaur playing and just being THERE and watching the fire.
WELL- such an exciting morning starting off with bumping into a rather large fox when I got to the site, THEN birds, bugs and bubbles (plus a fire and popcorn) with Potterspury Pre-School and THEN the Flying Scotsman went past – receiving delighted squeals and enthusiastic waves as it did so (and that was just me!).
WELL the fritters kind of worked … may need to meddle with the mix a bit BUT they were edible! Thank you to those who could make it today, lovely to see you all playing 😊. Dens, boats, bubbles, fire and an amazing car! Happy Fathers Day to all Nature Noodles style!
