WE braved the weather today and were really lucky … we had the chance to check our reptile mats – the largest thing we found was a snail, make balsa boats using mini hack saws and knives, seeing which boats worked and investigating the stream before having a fire and soup.  A beautiful morning 😊🌿🍃🌿.

ALL session dates for the next term will be confirmed shortly.  THIS THURSDAY is the last Nature Noodles of the block and this FRIDAY is WOODLAND RHYMETIME. 🌿🍃🌿🍁🍁

Unfortunately due to high gusts and wind speeds forecast this afternoon Woodland Rhymetime is not running.

Katie and I apologise for any inconvenience caused but safety is more important and it’s absolutely not worth the risk.

Hopefully Woodland Rhymetime will run as planned next Friday 19th October. 💨🍃🌿🍃

Another sunny session with some Go Find It exploring and collecting, our first story in the storytelling chair read by Ollie, some hammers, hand drills and peelers with some of the older children preferring to try a sheath knife.  We had some natural art and some of the plaques attached to our sign finishing off with some fire steel practice with tin can fires.

There is WOODLAND RHYMETIME tomorrow 1.30-2.15pm, Outdoor Learning Session on Monday 10-1pm, the last Thursday of the Noodles block on the 18th and finishing off the term with another WONDERFUL Woodland Rhymetime on the 19th.  🌿🍃🌿

A BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN day for our Monday session today – we were out for nearly 4 HOURS enjoying the sunshine, exploring the meadow, looking at maps, using compasses, splashing around in the stream, making our own tracks, putting down reptile mats AND just playing.  The bread on the stick worked too for just about the first time!

The NEXT Monday session is 15th October – where we can use some tools to make boats, explore the stream and make some dens. 🌿🍃🌿

A lovely sunny morning … going on a spider hunt, some exploring and making webs… took a while to take down tho!  Here is a cone spider! 

Due to a yellow weather warming Woodland Rhymetime is being rearranged from tomorrow to NEXT Friday 28th September.

A lovely first session of the Nature Noodles 5 week block – great to see old and new faces having fun in the outdoors, hiding, exploring, some messy play and digging.

There is NO session next week – the next Thursday is 27th September, the next Monday is 1st October AND WOODLAND RHYMETIME is next Friday 21st September 🌿🍃🌿.

Lots of fun had on our Monday session yesterday … collecting seeds and berries, playing with the new trolley and making bows and arrows.

The next session is 1st October.

Friday evening we enjoyed a bat walk led by Sustrans David.  There was a great turn out – lots of different ages and it was lovely to see you all!  It was too cold for the bats BUT we had a great time using the bat monitors, hearing lots of bat facts from David and enjoying a walk under the stars.

These are sessions for older children, suitable roughly for ages 5-10yrs old – though older and younger siblings are very welcome too.  During these sessions we will be exploring the world around us, going on nature walks, exploring meadows and stream studies, building boats, seeing what floats, looking at depth and working out the height of trees.  Looking at temperature and weather watching with some fire and tool use thrown in.

The cost of this session is £4.50 per family upto 2 children (50p per child thereafter). All children to be accompanied by a parent/ career.  If you have any queries please let me know.  Many thanks.
